Out With the Old :(

Are you ready for a sad story?? On Tuesday evening I set out for a jog in the metropolis of Lovelock with my trusty Ipod Mini that I've had for about 4 years. Bryce teases me about it all the time because the screen is black & white and it's "so old" they don't even make that model anymore. Well, I've been happy with it! It has all my cool tunes on it & it's little enough to put in an arm band to run with so I really had no complaints. I've always lived by the motto "if it's not broke don't fix it":)

So I was jogging along enjoying my favorite songs when all of a sudden my Ipod jumped out of the arm band and was dangling only by the headphones! It all happened in slow motion- - I reached down to grab my Ipod but was too late! It flew through the air & landed with a thud on the pavement! After saying maybe one or two choice words I picked it up and actually thought nothing of it. I've dropped it a couple times without any major damage besides a scratch or two. Well, it must have been my UNlucky day because my Ipod was frozen & I was distraught!! I ran home at once, looked up technical support on Apple.com and realized that if there was any chance of saving my Ipod it needed the attention of a Genius at the Apple store. So I made an appointment and set off to Reno the following day. Well, to make a long story slightly shorter, my "Genius" told me that there was nothing he could do but that "if you recycle your old Ipod mini with us you'll get 10% off a new one"! To tell you the truth I wanted to punch him in the face but I refrained. Losing my Ipod was one thing but what I was really upset about is all the songs that I've collected over the years on about 4 or 5 different computers.:( So I mourned the loss of my Ipod mini and came to terms with the fact that I was going to have to buy an early Christmas present because honestly, I cannot live without my Ipod! I listen to it almost all day in the Bose, when I'm in the car & while I'm jogging! My dependence on it explains why I was so upset!

After much deliberation (because I really wanted an Ipod touch but couldn't justify spending that much money) I left the Apple store an hour later with a sweet new purple Ipod Nano! I will admit that it's a definite step-up from the mini and I've already become attached.:)

Look at all the cool colors! It took me 1/2 an hour just to decide on which color to get!:)

While Mommy's Away. . . .

. . . . the children will. . . .
* * *
Eat chocolate chip cookies!

Pretend to be Darth Vader!

Push their own stroller!

Play in the dirt!

Go down the slide over & over & over!

Run through the Spider man sprinkler!

Blow bubbles!

Draw on the sidewalk. . . .

. . . and on their faces!

But honestly, who could say "NO" to these children??

While these cute little kids' mom is vacationing in Europe I get to play "mommy" for a week. We've been having tons of fun but it has also made me think....."who really needs more than one kid anyway?":) One child is basically an accessory but as soon as you add even just one more into the mix it becomes ciaos! Am I wrong to think this or have I just been thrown into this whole "mom" thing without any experience?

FaLL sEaSOn- -

So, fall has arrived & I always have mixed feeling about the season because what it means to me is. . . . winter is right around the corner!! Blah! I do enjoy the fall colors, the cooler weather, Halloween, fall decorations and pumpkin & spice flavors & smells but one of my favorite things about fall is that all of my favorite TV shows are back on!:) Forget football.....I'd rather watch good-looking football players dance on DWTS! Thank heavens for DVR (which I just got since moving to Nevada)! How did we ever live without it??
* * *
Here's my list of shows....it's almost ridiculous!:)
- The Hills
- Gossip Girl
- America's Next Top Model
- The Office
- Grey's Anatomy
- Private Practice
- Desperate Housewives
- Brothers & Sisters
- Dancing with the Stars
&
- Samantha Who?
I also watched Men in Trees last season but I don't think they're bringing it back!:(
* * *
Only someone with no children & no job could keep up with this many shows! It's pathetic, I know!

Don't You Just Love New Decorations??

Before you read this I want you to keep in mind that I am unemployed, childless & home by myself 8 hours a day unless you count the sleeping cat.:) And.....by the way..... I am loving it!!!:)

* * *

So I bought a few new decorations to help make our little apartment feel a little more like home & I've had tons of fun decorating this past week! Here are a few pictures of the new decorations. I know it's not much but man, decorations are expensive!!

Also, keep in mind that my apartment was built in the 80's (I think) so please excuse the cabinets & funky carpet.:)

So that was my big project this week, along with cooking for my husband! What a life!:)

My Last Week in Blanding!

I like to refer to my time in Blanding these last 3 months as "summer vacation". I got to hang out with my grandparents five days a week, tag along with my parents and relax a little with very few responsibilities! Blanding is a great little town and I really came to appreciate it this summer. No matter how long you're away it always feels like "home"!
* * *
Eventually the time drew near for me to pack my bags & move home with my husband but there were still a few things on my "to-do" list that I wanted to cram in my last week in Blanding.
#1- Have a "girl's night" with my mom & her BFF Judy.
#2- Do a little shopping for house decor for the apt. in Lovelock.
#3- Take a cruise on the itty-bitty motorcycle.
#4- Go to lunch with Cami, Tiff & Noelle at the Peace Tree.
and
#5- Catch a few fish with my dad & grandpa in Colorado.
* * *
"Girls night"

Judy just bought a home in Cortez, Colorado, so my mom & I went to have a sleep-over.:) We spent most of the evening in Durango eating yummy food & ice cream and just looking around in all the fun shops.

* * *

"Cruisin"

My dad bought this little motorcycle for his grandson but I'm not sure if Jett with have near as much fun on it as my mom & I did!

* * *
" Catchin' some fish"

My dad, grandpa & I enjoyed a day of fishing on Buckeye Reservoir while my mom & grandma "camped" under a few trees. I made sure to wear chap stick with SPF in it this time and...... so far so good, no heat blister!:)

Aaaahhhh, what a great summer!!
* * *
I made it home safely to my wonderful husband just in time to enjoy a little bit of the Labor Day weekend! I am very happy to be home and I think Bryce is too!:) I am officially a resident of Lovelock, Nevada! So long Blanding......until next time.
