Grandpa- -Out 'n About

Just a little update on my patient/grandpa.:)
Today is the first day that he has ventured out of the house since his last chemo treatment 3 weeks ago. He enjoyed every minute of it!! The weather was nice and grandpa was feeling pretty good! He has improved quite a bit over this past week. He's gotten his appetite back and is becoming stronger! I think I'm going to be out of a job soon!!:)

We actually went out today because of it being Memorial Day (just a day late). My grandma & grandpa put flowers on 14 different graves every year at the Blanding cemetery and I didn't want them to miss out on that this year. It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed visiting some of my family members graves with my grandparents. The cemetery really looks beautiful with every grave decorated with flowers.

My mom, grandparents and I leave tomorrow morning for Salt Lake City for an appointment with the oncologist. My grandpa, with his families support, has decided to stop having chemo treatments. We will find out this week whether or not we have any other options. At this point we are more concerned with quality of life rather than quantity. My family really wants my grandpa to be able to enjoy the things he likes to do with the time he has left here on earth, however long that may be. As of now he has a smile on his face and is cracking jokes which is the grandpa I've always known!

AmeRiCaN iDoL NerD

I will have to admit that I'm a huge fan of American Idol and an even bigger fan of David Cook!!! He is seriously sooooooo amazing and I am so excited that he won!! I am embarrassed to say this but my mom and I voted for David Cook for 4 hours on Tuesday! We're not quite sure how many votes that was but we're figuring it was probably around 400-500!:) I know what you're all thinking but my mom and I have loved David Cook from the beginning of the season and what makes it even cooler is that he tried out at the Omaha auditions. Coincidence?? I think not.:) I really like David Archuleta as well and he has a great voice but it was time for a rocker to win and who better than David Cook?! Did I mention how amazing he is?? Tell me you don't just melt when you see this picture!!:)

Am I the only American Idol nerd out there??

We're back...to the world of blogging!:)

Well, it's official, we've graduated law school and moved to Nevada!! It has been a very crazy, hectic, and exhausting few weeks!! We have driven over 2500 miles in the last week!! Needless to say......we're seriously tired!
I'm going to go ahead and rewind back about a week and half when we were still in Omaha. Bryce and I had so many visitors come to see us for Bryce's graduation and to help us move! They were tons of help!! They helped us load the Penske truck and clean our apartment. What an amazing family we have!! Bryce and I also wanted them to have a little fun while they were there so we took them to the zoo of coarse!! It is one of Omaha's main attractions!!

Here's the whole gang!! We had tons of fun at the zoo!

We just absolutely love our nieces and nephews!! Aren't they cute!?

Another great thing to see in Omaha is the Mormon trail center at what was known as Winter Quarters. It is a museum that basically tells the story of the pioneer trek. There is even a cemetery where they buried the pioneers that died at Winter Quarters or somewhere along the way. It is an amazing thing to see! and very humbling I might add.

This is also the location of the Winter Quarters temple. It is right across the street from the trail center.
The trail center has cute little pioneer dress-up clothes for the little kids and Jett had so much with it! He is at such a fun age! He gets so excited about stuff that it makes me excited to share it with him! What a cutie!

I'm pretty sure that the play guns aren't usually used to pretend to shoot animals but Jett is obsessed with this activity so we said what the heck! Here he is shooting an ox with his wooden gun.:)

And now for the main event......

Graduation!!!!

The boys were so happy to have finally graduated Law School! They were all smiles!! What an accomplishment!

These pictures were taken after the Law School hooding which lasted a little longer than expected but was pretty cool to see. It was so great to see that all the hard work Bryce put in these past 3 years had paid off!!

The parents were so proud of their son/son-in-law! Bryce had to introduce them to one of his favorite law professors Professor Mangrum. Interestingly enough this is the professor that recommended Bryce for the job in Nevada and we're so thankful for that!

I honestly never thought the day would come that Bryce would finally graduate Law School!!:) I am so proud of him!! He worked really hard and did very well in school and I want him to know how amazing he is! He also did the sweetest thing by giving me a dozen roses before the hooding and thanking me! What a great man I married!! I'm a pretty lucky girl!:)
Anyway- - following graduation on Saturday we finished loading the last minute boxes in the Penske and hit the road. I was too stressed about moving to feel much sadness about leaving Omaha other than the phone farewell to one of my bestest friends Lexxi!! I will miss her tons!! It's just crazy to think that I made such great friends in Omaha and I honestly don't know when I'll see them again! It's a very sad feeling!!
We made it to Nevada on Tuesday with our Penske and all belongings in tow....trust me, I was a little worried about it because of what happened the last time we moved. But I'm happy to say we had no major mishaps this time!!:) I expressed to Bryce my feelings about staying over night at a hotel while our moving truck sat alone in the parking lot just screaming for someone to steal it so he did what he could to ensure it's safety. I wish I would have taken a picture! We parked the Penske with it's end up against a huge light pole, then we parked the Honda right in front of the Penske and my father-in-law's truck behind the light pole. Our parking formed an "I". Well, we figured if someone was going to drive away with the Penske they'd have to take out 2 other cars and in the mean time making a lot of noise causing quite a camotion.:) We'll never know if it warded off any potential moving truck theives but it sure helped ease our minds a little. NO WORRIES- - I woke up at 5:00 AM and ran down to the parking lot to make sure the Penske was still there and come to find out my in-laws did the same thing around 3:00 and 4:00 AM. What can we say.....we were a little traumatised from the last U-Haul experience!!!
Bryce and I spent 4 days unpacking box after box after box in our new apartment in Lovelock. We're not quite sure yet if we're going to like it there but we're keeping an open mind. We're really excited to be closer to family though!! On Saturday I got in the car AGAIN and left my wonderful husband to head to Blanding to start my new "job". But I had to make a special trip to Brigham City to see Kristin! It had already been a whole week since we both packed up and left Omaha to go our seperate ways and we're not used to going that long without seeing eachother!:)
So now I'm in Blanding and excited to be here with my family!! I miss my husband like crazy but my grandpa is very sick and I'm so thankful that I have this opportunity to take care of him. He's a wonderful man and an even better grandfather! I'm so blessed!

Lets just say "we've been BUSY!"

Wow! Bryce and I have had a really busy 2 weeks and it's only going to get worse! Our families are coming in on Thursday for the graduation and our Penske moving truck drives out of here three days later. For the past few weeks Bryce has been studying like crazy for his finals. The last finals he'll ever take!! He finished on Wednesday and has been grinning from ear to ear ever since.:) I haven't seen him this happy since before he started law school 3 years ago!! While Bryce was studying I was trying to visit some of my favorite places in Omaha and spend some time with my wonderful friends before I move from this place and never return.:( And between all that I have been trying to pack, which is the most miserable experience ever!! So here are a few of the things that have kept us busy these past few weeks- -

A few Saturdays ago Lexxi, Kristin and I took a trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo! It was a beautiful day and we had a good time! We spent a lot of our time watching the gorillas like most zoo goers do. They're so entertaining! I didn't get very good pictures but here's a few...

Ohhhh the joys of packing! Jack and I have been cranking up the Ipod and singing loudly (well, maybe just me) as we pack books, movies, dishes, clothes and decorations. Jack just lounged on the moving blankets and watched me most of the time. Did I mention how un-fun packing is??

Last Saturday I helped with my friend Ashley's baby shower. She's due in August and I'm glad we had the shower early so that those of us that are moving out of town could attend. Keri did a great job planning and decorating!!! She even made chocolate covered strawberries that were completely delicious! I'm convinced she should be a professional party planner!! Ashley looks amazing by the way and she got some really cute stuff for her, soon to be, new addition.

And last but not least on our crazy agenda for this past week. . . . . . . we finally retired the Mazda!!!! Can you believe it?? Not only was it smoking, clanking, and leaking oil like crazy but this past week the muffler fell and was loudly dragging on the road as Bryce drove to and from school.:) Isn't that hilarious and embarrassing!! I just told Bryce that I'm glad he had to drive it and not me. I think I would have taken the bus.:)
Farewell Mazda- - you will NOT be missed!!

Well, we had to replace the Mazda right?? We were long past due for a new car!! We have been researching, test driving, and trying to deal with sneaky car dealers all week long! I never knew shopping for a car could be so exhausting!! After all that work we finally did it.... we bought a new car.... and man, did we want to throw-up afterwards!!:) That's the biggest purchase we've ever made and it was stressful!
So meet our new car. . . . .
Here are the stats- -
Year: 2008
Make: Honda
Model: Accord EXL
Engine: V6
Transmission: Automatic
Color: Pearl White

We just picked it up this morning and we love it!! We're having a hard time doing anymore packing because we just want to drive around in our car!:)
