Go Ahead.....Call Me A "Homemaker"

I'm not really a "make things from scratch" sort of girl but last week I became a "homemaker" just by doing so.:) Ok, I know that doesn't really qualify me as a "homemaker" but we'll pretend just for the sake of this post.
* * *
I was getting ready to make a delicious steak salad recipe from the Liz Edmunds cook book I've mentioned before and it called for Honey Mustard dressing. Well. . . . I'm more of a Ranch dressing girl but I thought, "What the heck? I've got the ingredients. I can do this!"
And let me tell you what. . . . . I DID!!

I never realized what strange ingredients go into a dressing. Vinegar?? And minced onion??

Oh but once you get it all blended together . . . . . .it's delicious!!

Can you see the big old smile on my face?? I was so darn proud of myself!!:) Not like it was hard or anything but I've just never made anything from scratch except freezer jam- once.

So don't laugh at me. . . .
just let me bask in the glory of being a "homemaker" for just one day!:)

OUCH!!!

So Bryce bit the dust last Tuesday playing church basketball and came down on his ankle.
He heard it pop and wasn't able to put any weight on it so his comrades took him to the ER.
Around this time I got a phone call:
Brittany: Hello.
"Comrade": Hi Brittany. . . . . .we're taking Bryce to the Emergency Room. Would you like to meet us there??
Brittany: EMERGENCY ROOM?? What happened??
"Comrade": Well, we think he sprained his ankle but he may need x-rays.
Brittany: Oh. . . . . sprained ankle. I'll be there soon.
* * *
I had just gotten home from the grocery store so after putting away the "frozen goods" I headed to Pershing General Hospital.
* * *
Well after being at the hospital for nearly 2 hours we left with an ace wrap, pain medication, and crutches!
Yea you heard me. . . . .crutches.:(
* * *
Day 2

Day 3

Looked like a club foot huh??:)
* * *
Well, after 3 days on crutches Bryce is able to "hobble" on his foot now. It's looking much better and a little less like a fat man's foot.:)

"Thank You Geek Squad!"

Well, we're up and running again....sort of.
Our computer had some slight "malfunctions" so it spent 10 days with the Geek Squad and boy did we miss it!
I am slightly technologically dependent so 10 days felt like a year!!!
I use the computer every day multiple times so I had to get a little creative. . . . . using the public library computers, the computer at work and even stepping away from Easter festivities for a couple minutes to use my in-laws' computer.:)
* * *
When I say we're "sort of" up and running it means that we have to start from square one with our old/new computer. The Geek Squad had to replace the hard drive so I've got all my programs and such on an external hard drive that I haven't quite gotten figured out yet. For being so dependent on technology you'd think I'd be more computer savvy but. . . . . . . . I'm not.

Very Cute Book!

My life is just so uneventful lately (which isn't always a bad thing) that I just really don't have much to blog about.
* * *
I have been reading a lot lately though and stayed up until 4:30 AM last night finishing this book because I couldn't put it down.
Anytime Stephenie Meyer recommends a book I run right out and buy it because I know I won't be disappointed. And I wasn't!! Let me tell you though that I went to 4 different book stores and each and every one of them were sold out! I ended up having to order it through Amazon.com. I tell ya, the authors of the books that Stephenie recommends should be singing her praises or cut her a check or something.:)

Anyway, if you love to read check out this book "The Girl Who Could Fly" by Victoria Forester. It's really cute!!
