Bowling With The Bishops :)

Bryce and I love bowling but really don't do it too often. We aren't half bad either:)

So last night we decided to get together with the Bishops for some food and fun. First we met at Red Robin for dinner and their YUMMY fries, then we went bowling to see if Kristin was really as good at bowling as she claims she is :), and to end the night we treated ourselves to some ice cream from DQ! We had so much fun hanging out with the Bishops!

We are going to miss them sooooooo much when they move back to Utah in 6 weeks!! We have been hanging out, spending holidays together and helping one another survive Law School for the past 3 years!! I don't know if I'll survive here in Omaha without my very similar OCD friend!!:) We really want to enjoy these last few weeks that we have with them.

We have been able to watch Jaxson grow and change during his first year and Bryce has become quite fond of him. As you can see from the picture Jaxson thinks Bryce is a goof ball!!

Anyway....... back to bowling.
The boys really put on their game faces and tried to out-bowl the girls but they failed. They just couldn't find the strikes and spares that the girls did!:)

Here is Kristin celebrating after bowling one of her many strikes!! She really is as good as she says she is and she proved it last night! One day she'll be on a bowling league wearing pink shoes and carrying her pink bowling ball in a cute pink bag.:)
Here are the winners:
Game 1: Kristin with a score of 154!!
Game 2: Brittany with a score of 144!!
Sorry boys! Better luck next time!:)

Relaxing Vacation....Turned "Business Trip"

I am back from Utah and had a wonderful time with my family.....the short time with them I had. My original plans were to go home to Blanding, keep my mom company while my dad was away on a hunting trip, relax, visit some friends, and spend some time with my brother and his family in Riverton. Well that's not really how my "relaxing vacation" panned out.

I did get to go to Blanding with my mom for about 2 days and we tried to enjoy the time we had together! My mom was so bummed that our plans were changed.:( She is one of my best friends and it's sad that we don't get to spend a lot of time together just the two of us. We were able to watch American Idol together which is one of our all time favorite shows!!:) We both love David Cook!!!! among a few others.

The day before I flew home my family found out that my grandpa has been diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes. This was not the news we were hoping for but kind of expected. This will be my grandpa's second battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with colon cancer 3 years ago and had a section of his large bowel removed. He recovered quite well from that surgery and it makes me so sad to think that he is going to have to go through treatment that will probably be even more tough than that. The doctor explained to us that his cancer is non-operable so he will more than likely be treated with chemotherapy and radiation. I just want him to be strong and get through this! He and my grandma are in Oklahoma right now staying with my aunt Lisa so he can get treatment at the American Cancer Institute in Tulsa. I'm so grateful that I was able to see him and spend some time with him while I was home. I love you Grandpa!

I absolutely adore my brother's kids so I cherish any and all time I get to spend with them! They are so much fun!! So while I was in Riverton I did get to have a pretty good chat with my brother, go shopping with my sister-in-law and play with these two cutest little kiddos.:)

..........................and next is when my vacation turned into a business trip.

Bryce was offered a position as an Assistant District Attorney for Pershing County Nevada! The District Attorney that he would be working for wanted to fly both of us out to check out the area and officially interview for the job ...so off we went. Bryce's office would be right inside the only operating round court house in the United States. It is a pretty cool building as exciting as court houses go.:) We spent the weekend in Lovelock which is about an hour outside Reno and is the resting place of the round court house. In one short weekend we interviewed for the job (which I was able to sit in on),toured the court house, went out to dinner with the DA and his wife, met a few of the younger LDS couples, met up with a Lovelock Realtor, had lunch with the District Court Judge and his family, toured the hospital with the Hospital Administrator/friend of the DA (to scope out a job site for me), went to an Easter brunch at the city park, attended church at the only ward in Lovelock :), and last but not least............ the most beautiful part of the whole trip..............................

LAKE TAHOE!!!!
Bryce and I actually had some free time on Saturday evening so we decided to drive the 2 hour trip to Lake Tahoe! It was soooooo worth it!!! It is the most beautiful place I have EVER seen! I was in awe at how amazing it was! Ski resorts on beautiful mountains and little towns that just whisper "vacation" border this brilliant blue lake that stretches for miles and miles. Wow- I was blown away!

These pictures don't even come close to doing it justice!!

Bryce and I were in Heaven! We found a 7-Eleven in one of the little towns and got our favorite treat- - - - a banana slurpee and then to top it all off as we left the mountains and entered into Reno we found Bryce's favorite place to eat- - - - In-N-Out Burger!! What a great little trip to Lake Tahoe!:)

I know that some of you will be wondering whether or not we'll be moving to Nevada and after seeing Lake Tahoe we've decided we will!!!:) Just kidding! The honest answer is that we're not sure yet. It is a great job opportunity for Bryce and we will make our decision within the next few weeks. It's good to be back in Omaha though for the time being.:)

Our New Obsession.......

Ok... so Bryce and I just bought the Guitar Hero game on Monday and we are totally hooked!!! You could probably say we're obsessed with it!:) I don't know if any of you have played this game but it is so flippin' fun!! We haven't been getting much sleep and are barely functioning at work/school but are getting better and better at "rockin' out".:) We actually bought the game to play at the graduation party we're having next month but thought we'd better practice a little. So those of you that come to the graduation party can look forward to playing this awesome game!! And to add to that- - all of you are invited to the party though I know it would be a long drive for some of you.:)
Here is Bryce "rockin' out"!! He sits down while he plays and I stand so you know who looks more retarded while playing .......and now you understand why there's only a picture of one of us.:) Are Bryce and I completely crazy for loving this game??

Utah here I come!!!

I am so excited!!! I just spent too much money on a non-stop flight "HOME" to see my family!! My dad is going on a hunting trip with some friends so I will be spending some quality time with my mom!! I can't wait!! I need a break from work and from the bitter cold of Nebraska. Bryce will be staying here to continue going to classes, studying and working.:(
The dates are March 18 through the 25th! I will also be spending some time in Riverton with Ian, Adrienne and the kids and doing a little, much needed, clothes shopping in Salt Lake. I love shopping!!! Maybe someday I'll have some money to spend.:)
I haven't been home for Easter in........ I don't know how long. Maybe my mom and I will paint some eggs!;) Anyway- - FAMILY I can't wait to see you all!!
12 days and counting!!

Best Baseball Birthday Party Ever!

Yeah!....... Jaxson John Bishop turns 1 year old!!!!

Bryce and I went to Jaxson's baseball themed birthday party last night and it was awesome! I'm convinced his mom (my very good friend Kristin) should be a professional party planner. Everything was baseball! Kristin even served baseball park themed food: hot dogs, soft pretzels, nachos and popcorn. And wait till you see this. . . . . . . . . .

Yes- this is the birthday cake! Isn't is amazing??!! Kristin worked so hard on this cake and it turned out great! It even tasted good!:)
She even made cupcakes that looked like baseballs with licorice strings! Yummy!:)

This was Jaxson's smash cupcake! I don't think he's ever had cake before and he loved it! He even licked the frosting off his fingers!! What a cutie!

Kristin's apartment was completely full of guests that came to celebrate Jaxson's birthday. It was really fun getting to see everyone! We had such a great time!!
Kristin- - the party was a success! You did a great job! You deserve a huge pat on the back ...... ....and maybe a week vacation for this one!:)
Jaxson's real birthday is next Friday March 7th and he'll be in Utah visiting his grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles. So Happy Happy Birthday Jaxson!! Have a fun trip to Utah!
