13 Months and. . . . almost walking :)

Roman has gone from pushing his walker toy. . . . .

. . . . to getting brave. . . .


. . . . and letting go!

Four days ago he took about 6 steps but he's gotten scared since then. He'll take about 2 steps before sitting down now. He wants to walk!.... just needs to get a little more brave.:)

Roman has changed quite a bit over the past month so I need to do an update.

13 Months Old:

- Will balance & stand for a min or two without holding onto anything

- Has 10 teeth

- Completely weaned from nursing and really likes whole milk

- Has a small vocabulary including:

"ba"= ball

"pa pa"= Papa

"nanna"= banana

"mmmma"= mom

and his brand new word, as of 2 days ago, "no" :(

- Learning how to repeat words said to him

- Jabbers all the time & "tells stories"

- So, so ticklish: under his arms, on his neck, sqeezing his chubby thighs and poking his full belly. . . . . he guts laughs and curls up in a ball on the floor. It's hilarious!

- Recognizes and loves his paci (takes it out of his mouth to cry then puts it back in)

- Wears 18 month clothes

- Insists on standing up in the tub! This makes for a short & stressful bath.

- Still HATES to get dressed or get his diaper changed.

- Loves, loves, loves fruit & bread

- Gets shy occasionally when someone talks to him and he'll lay his head on my shoulder (so cute!)

- Loves to push a ball around the house......sorta like hand soccer :)

- This boy is BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

He wears me out on a daily basis. . . . . but I wouldn't have it any other way :)

FoURth oF juLY!!

I haven't been a very good blogger lately so this post is a little late. Oh well!

There is no better place on earth to celebrate the 4th of July than Blanding, Utah! I love this little town!:) Roman was far too little to enjoy any sort of Independence Day celebration last year so it was so fun to let him experience the best of the best this year.

We started the day off with the parade- -

Roman LOVES his cousins! He won't even take his eyes off Tenli to look at me for a picture.

After the parade was over we headed down to the booths at the park and had some delicious lunch and visited with lots of friends & family. Roman had such a fun morning & afternoon he took a 3 hour nap before we headed to the boxing matches. After the boxing matches we headed down to the park to listen to the band and wait for the fireworks.

It was already past Roman's bedtime but what kind of mom would I be if I didn't take Roman to watch the fireworks?:) I put him in his jammies at least.

Roman confiscated a glow stick from some poor kid and kept it for his own.:)

This boy LOVES a glow-stick!

I was so excited to watch Roman smash into his giant birthday cupcake and it looks as if he is too.

But he was actually quite hesitant.

One Year Old!!!!!!

I CANNOT believe my baby is 1 year old today!. . . . . but I also can't remember what my life was like without him. He is the cutest, funnest, most lovable, happy baby EVER!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my baby boy!!

He had his 1 year check-up and these are his stats:

Weight: 22.9 lbs. (50%)

Height: 28.6 in. (25%)

Head: 48 cm. (95%)

My baby's got a big noggin' :)

Roman became fascinated with the balloons at his cousin's birthday party so we brought some home for mild entertainment.
