I am back from Utah and had a wonderful time with my family.....the short time with them I had. My original plans were to go home to Blanding, keep my mom company while my dad was away on a hunting trip, relax, visit some friends, and spend some time with my brother and his family in Riverton. Well that's not really how my "relaxing vacation" panned out.
I did get to go to Blanding with my mom for about 2 days and we tried to enjoy the time we had together! My mom was so bummed that our plans were changed.:( She is one of my best friends and it's sad that we don't get to spend a lot of time together just the two of us. We were able to watch American Idol together which is one of our all time favorite shows!!:) We both love David Cook!!!! among a few others.
The day before I flew home my family found out that my grandpa has been diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes. This was not the news we were hoping for but kind of expected. This will be my grandpa's second battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with colon cancer 3 years ago and had a section of his large bowel removed. He recovered quite well from that surgery and it makes me so sad to think that he is going to have to go through treatment that will probably be even more tough than that. The doctor explained to us that his cancer is non-operable so he will more than likely be treated with chemotherapy and radiation. I just want him to be strong and get through this! He and my grandma are in Oklahoma right now staying with my aunt Lisa so he can get treatment at the American Cancer Institute in Tulsa. I'm so grateful that I was able to see him and spend some time with him while I was home. I love you Grandpa!
I absolutely adore my brother's kids so I cherish any and all time I get to spend with them! They are so much fun!! So while I was in Riverton I did get to have a pretty good chat with my brother, go shopping with my sister-in-law and play with these two cutest little kiddos.:)
..........................and next is when my vacation turned into a business trip.

Bryce was offered a position as an Assistant District Attorney for Pershing County Nevada! The District Attorney that he would be working for wanted to fly both of us out to check out the area and officially interview for the job ...so off we went. Bryce's office would be right inside the only operating round court house in the United States. It is a pretty cool building as exciting as court houses go.:) We spent the weekend in
Lovelock which is about an hour outside Reno and is the resting place of the round court house. In one short weekend we interviewed for the job (which I was able to sit in on),toured the court house, went out to dinner with the DA and his wife, met a few of the younger
LDS couples, met up with a
Lovelock Realtor, had lunch with the District Court Judge and his family, toured the hospital with the Hospital Administrator/friend of the DA (to scope out a job site for me), went to an Easter brunch at the city park, attended church at the only ward in
Lovelock :), and last but not least............ the most beautiful part of the whole trip..............................
LAKE TAHOE!!!!

Bryce and I actually had some free time on Saturday evening so we decided to drive the 2 hour trip to Lake Tahoe! It was
soooooo worth it!!! It is the most beautiful place I have EVER seen! I was in awe at how amazing it was! Ski resorts on beautiful mountains and little towns that just
whisper "vacation" border this brilliant blue lake that stretches for miles and miles. Wow- I was blown away!

These pictures don't even come close to doing it justice!!

Bryce and I were in Heaven! We found a 7-Eleven in one of the little towns and got our favorite treat- - - - a banana s
lurpee and then to top it all off as we left the mountains and entered into Reno we found Bryce's favorite place to eat- - - - In-N-Out Burger!! What a great little trip to Lake Tahoe!:)

I know that some of you will be wondering whether or not we'll be moving to Nevada and after seeing Lake Tahoe we've decided we will!!!:) Just kidding! The honest answer is that we're not sure yet. It is a great job opportunity for Bryce and we will make our decision within the next few weeks. It's good to be back in Omaha though for the time being.:)

What an exciting job offer, beautiful pictures of the lake--it made me jelous!! I'm questioning the banana slurpie, however :). I'll have to try one out sometime. Ryan LOVES In-n-out burger to! Nevada would put you close to blanding:) let us know when you make a decision. Glad you made it home safe and sound :)
Wow, it sounds like you were pretty busy on your "relaxful" vacation. I am SOO sorry about your grandpa. I can't believe this is his second go around with that horrible yucky disease. I hope everything goes good. It's good that your aunt lives close by a good treatment center. So Nevada huh? That would be cool I think. It would be warm at least. It sounds like you guys had a good time there and like they treated you pretty nice. I hate making big decisions like that, Good Luck!!
Sorry about your Grandpa!!! That sucks. What a crazy trip. I'm now convinced that Cole and I should take a trip to Tahoe, it looks awesome. Congrats about the offer! Thats a little closer to Utah, huh?! It sounds like a good job if he takes it, I would love to prosecute! Keep us posted :)

Hey Brittany! Looks like you had a fun trip. We love Lake Tahoe. It's where we went on our honeymoon. It's an amazing place, the water is so blue. I think it would be cool to see it in the winter. That's exciting about the job offers. It would be fun to see you guys before we move. WE are moving May 13th. Maybe we could fit in a Cafe Rio night or something and have Paris and Todd over too. I just started selling Scentsy, but I'm really excited about it. I love their stuff! What is your address? and Your e-mail?
you left out the best part - your big star jeans you purchased with me :) kids miss you already.
Hey! Fun trip! That pic on my blog was Trent's dad, and yes he and Trent's mom are the ones that live in Papillion. His grandparents on his mom's side also live there, the Flynns. I also have some cousins that live there. Mark and Brenda Lyman, and they have like 4 or 5 kids I think. Maybe you'll run into one of them sometime! lol So have you checked out Nebraska Furniture Mart yet?? It's like my favorite place!
Hey it was so good to see you when you were here. I'm glad to hear things went well in Nevada. We're anxious to hear what you decide to do. I hope things go well with your Grandpa in Tulsa.

I am glad that you are back from your trip. Sorry about your grandpa! That is so sad. Your brothers kids are so adorable! I could just pinch their little cheeks!!
I LOVE David Cook too! He is definitely my favorite...I like David Archuletta and Brook White, but David Cook is the best in my opinion.
Reno would be a great place to live. It would be sad if you moved from here though. We would miss you guys! We love working in the primary with you and Bryce.
Um do it! Hello we've already discussed this! Just kidding. I'm glad you posted something about this adventure...although I was hoping you would call and tell me all about it...and "The Home of the Round Court House" ha ha ha. Oh sweet little Lovelock. I'm very jealous you were able to visit Lake Tahoe. It looks absolutely amazing! I guess after you move there you will just have to take Garrett and I. :)
p.s. I'm sorry to hear that news about your Grandpa. That makes me sad.
Looks like you had fun in Utah. Sorry about your grandpa that is really sad. Have you guys decided yet on the move? If not you should totally take it because it is close to us:) I cannot believe that you bowled a 144 that is crazy. I think my high was 107 or something like that.
