I was so excited to watch Roman smash into his giant birthday cupcake and it looks as if he is too.

One Year Old!!!!!!

I CANNOT believe my baby is 1 year old today!. . . . . but I also can't remember what my life was like without him. He is the cutest, funnest, most lovable, happy baby EVER!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my baby boy!!

He had his 1 year check-up and these are his stats:

Weight: 22.9 lbs. (50%)

Height: 28.6 in. (25%)

Head: 48 cm. (95%)

My baby's got a big noggin' :)

Eleven Months!!!

Ok, so I need to do a little catch-up. I have been slacking again with the blog.:( Mostly because my life has been turned upside down yet again. . . . but that is a whole other story for a different post. . . . .that, if I'm being honest, will probably never be written.

What is most important is my baby boy and that is why I want to make sure that I have a "journal" of his development and milestones. So. . . . .

Roman turned 11 months old on May 23rd.

I just can't keep up with this baby. He is changing and developing more & more EVERY day. It's amazing!

One day he was pushing himself up on his hands and the next day. . . .

. . . he was pulling himself up to everything.

He LOVES all the new things this "trick" allows him to explore.

. . . .including pestering Jack at different heights.:)

This is my favorite!. . . . walking into his room to pick him up from his nap. I can't even count though how many times he's bumped his noggin' on the crib rales trying to pull up to look out over the crib.

He bites everything! I haven't figured out yet if he is a "biter" or just teething. I guess we'll find out when he starts preschool.:)

We fought a dang eye infection for 2 weeks. He still has a clogged tear duct in his left eye and this is the 2nd time it's gotten infected.:( Not fun!

11 Months:
- Pulling up!

- Starting to take steps holding onto the furniture

- Has 2 favorite stuffed animals: Roarbert & Blue puppy

- Takes 2 naps a day in his crib

- Sleeps from 8-6

- Favorite book is "Freight Train"

- First word: "Jack" (he has said it multiple times when Jack walks in the room)

- LOVES his groceries :)

- Will cry when I take him back in the apartment after being outside

- Still hates to get dressed/undressed

- LOVES to be sung to. This is one of our favorites: (sung to the tune of B-I-N-G-O)

He also loves Old MacDonald & Popcorn Popping

- Still sportin' the hawk because his hair only grows in the middle of his head :)

- Has 8 teeth: 4 top & 4 bottom

- He weighed 23 lbs. when we took him in on the 17th for his eye infection

- Still nursing 4 times a day but is getting quite rambunctious

- He loves to play & explore and get into things :)

** Roman really is such a good baby and he is definitely a mama's boy which makes me super happy. Love him to pieces!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Roman & I made it to Blanding for the weekend and were excited to check out the new pool with the cousins. Well. . . I was excited to put Roman in his cute swim trunks and swim hat. Not so excited to get in a swimsuit myself but I'll do anything for Roman and my niece & nephew, even if it means embarrassing myself.:)

Our weekend fun came to a halt when Roman woke up Sunday morning with a fever. He did NOT feel good. He was very whiny & clingy which meant I spent a lot of time holding him and not much of anything else. He had just finished antibiotics for an ear infection on Friday which apparently didn't get rid of the infection. So on Tuesday after 2 days of no doctor's offices being open and lots of ibuprofen I took him in for a shot of Rocephin. He was feeling 100% better within 2 days. Yay!!

This is my attempt at helping to bring down his fever. He didn't even mind it. He crawled around and slept with a cool rag on his head for 2 days. And I'm telling you it helped!

We did make a quick trip to the cemetery on Monday to see my grandpa's headstone and decorate it with flowers.

We love & miss you gramps!
