EiGht mONthS!!

My baby boy turned 8 months on Feb.23rd so this post is just slightly overdue but for journaling purposes it must be done.:) The problem is trying to remember what he was doing a month ago compared to now but I'll give it a try.

* * *

8 months:
* Sitting up by himself (falling back on occasion)

* Gut laughing :)

* Taking small sips from a sippy cup

* Loves to eat small bits of fruit

* Scoots himself around on his tummy

* Rolls all over

* Occasionally gets up on hands and knees to rock

* Does NOT like getting dressed or undressed

* Clicks his tongue

* Plays more actively with his toys

and

* His favorite person is still mommy :)

Roman enjoys playing mostly with things that aren't his toys. And don't judge me because my baby is playing with a ziploc bag. :) It's totally safe right??

Roman scooted himself into a corner and got ticked when he couldn't get out. He hasn't quite figured out how to scoot forward yet.

Maybe Roman is getting too big for his swing but he still loves to fall asleep in it so we're sticking with it for now. :)

Roman and Papa are BFFs!

This baby boy is going to be 1 year old before I know it!!! That is just crazy! But I'm getting excited to plan his birthday party.:) Not too over the top but I want to have fun with it.

So we spent 5 days last week in Mesa, Arizona, pretending to be "snowbirds"......or wishing we were.:) The afternoons were so beautiful and warm, so we took advantage of being outside & laying out by the pool in February.

To say that Roman LOVED being outside in only his diaper would be an understatement. This kid was in heaven!

Happy President's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We've decided that Arizona is the place to be on Valentine's Day. There's nothing like celebrating the day of love outside in 84 degree weather.:)

But that's a whole other post......so we'll just stick with Valentine stuff for now.

Roman had a great Valentine's Day!

He got lots of great stuff and LOADS of love from all the people that love him.

Grandma & Grandpa Shields showered him with Valentine's love last weekend when we were visiting. We LOVE new books....and animals that match!

I decided to start a tradition of writing Roman a letter every year on Valentine's Day. I read it to him this year and will put it in his keepsake box. It's important to me that he knows how much I love him and I thought Valentine's Day was the perfect holiday to express that to him.

We hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day and felt loved by those they love!

The 'Hawk' Gets a Trim

Roman's 'hawk' was starting to look a little more crazy than usual so mom decided it was time for a trim. Yikes!

Roman is 7 mOnTHs OLd!!

My baby boy is growing up right before my eyes!:(

I love it and hate it at the same time. Is that possible??

Just a couple changes from his 6 month update- -

7 Months:

* Sitting up well but will still throw himself back on occasion

(Lovin' the Boppy pillow)

* Has decided he likes his fruits and veggies....with the exception of peas & green beans

* Rolling all over the place

*Gets up on his hands and knees occasionally

* His favorite sound right now is "Ba ba ba ba ba" and he repeats it frequently

* Has started a lovely habit of screaming. . . .which is the only thing he's done in 7 months that I can truly say is NOT CUTE!

* Has just his 2 bottom teeth and no others breaking through at this time

* Grabs at everything!

* He is definitely a "momma's boy"

and is possibly, just slightly, a little spoiled :)

There is just NOTHING more sweet than my sleeping Roman. :)

Roman was playing on his mat while I was folding laundry one evening and when I went into his room to check on him this is what I found. . . .

And no he wasn't crying. . . . . he was just intently looking at all the colors on his mat. . . . very close-up.:)
